1. About God
God is the Creator and Sovereign Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three (the Trinity) are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
2. About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of His people by dying on a cross. He arose bodily from the grave after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Matthew 1:22, 23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14, 15; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Timothy 6:14, 15; Titus 2:13)
3. About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift when the are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under His control daily. (2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13; 14:16, 17 Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; 5:18; Galatians 5:25)
4. About the Bible
The Bible is God’s specific word to us! It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is inspired – not just in the thoughts – but the very words in the original autographs. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error as given. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; 2 Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:105, 160; 12:6)
5. About Human Beings
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential, all of us are spiritually dead. We are in this sad predicament because we have inherited the sin problem and our own sin nature from the federal head of our race – Adam. My sins have separated me from God, and I can do nothing to earn His favor. Without God’s specific intervention in my life through regeneration, I am doomed to the Lake of Fire. (Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; 5:12; Isaiah 59:1, 2)
6. About Salvation
Salvation – from start to finish – is all God’s work! I can do nothing to earn salvation, as the Bible makes it clear. My salvation was planned by God, ordained by God, purchased by God, made effective by God and it is kept by the power of God! I personally receive salvation when I come to Christ in repentance and faith, responding to the inward call of His Holy Spirit. I do so in response to His regenerating power! I am not saved by any of my good works, but by the precious blood of Christ – Who as my substitute – bore my sins in His body on the tree. Because salvation is entirely dependent upon God – not me – nothing can take my salvation away! Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8, 9; John 3:3ff; John 6:37-40; 43-45; 63-67; John 10:27-30; John 14:6; Titus 3:5, 6; John1:12; Galatians 3:26; Romans 8:28-39; Romans 5:1; John 10:28, 29; Romans 8:28-39)
7. About Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is to suffer eternal death in Hell. To be eternally in union with God is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real, literal places of eternal existence. (John 3:16; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17, 18; Revelation 20:15; 21:8; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9)

8. Other Areas

We are Fundamental in Doctrine – meaning we hold to the historic fundamentals of the faith such as the virgin birth of Christ, the bodily resurrection, and the complete inerrant, inspired Word of God (see #4 above). We are Non-Charismatic – meaning we do not practice speaking in tongues as we believe this was a foundational gift used in establishing the New Testament church. We also practice Ecclesiastical Separation – choosing not to fellowship with churches that do not accept the fundamental doctrines of our faith. CrossRoads Church is an independent Baptist church holding to the Baptist Distinctives. (Matthew 1:23; 1 Corinthians 15; 2 Timothy 3:16; Ephesians 2:20; Hebrews 2:3-4; 1 Corinthians 14:22; 2 Corinthians 6:17; 2 Thessalonians 3:6)
